Labor Day Weekend

Here's the play-by-play of our Labor Day Weekend.

Friday night, Kate & Barry came to our house for a last minute enchilada dinner. Yum.

Saturday, Aunt Kate, Mom, and the girls went “back to school” shopping. We started the morning at Einstein Bagles (sort of like a Panera, but not quite). Then we went to Grapevine Mills mall, which is a huge mall here. A lot of the stores are outlets. Our first stop was JC Penney Outlet, which reminded me of trips with Aunt Carol when we were kids. The girls stayed the night with Kate & Barry and had Jersey Mikes subs for dinner (apparently the meatball subs are really good), played at the park and watched “The Water Horse”.

Sunday, we checked out Central Market. This is like a small Jungle Jim’s (Cincinnati) or North Market (Columbus). They were having a Hatch chile festival with chile roasting and lots of samples of chile products. We found they had a good selection of loose tea, including some that were $84/lb! It better be darn good at that price! AJ has been known to drink some tea now and then, so she selected “apricot mango” to try. We also got some “raspberry mango splash”. We will definitely be making some return trips to Central Market.

Monday, we continued to get some things put away. The garage (yes, we have a garage again!) is just about finished. We still have things to go into the attic and pictures to hang. In the afternoon, we went swimming at Kate & Barry’s and grilled out. Then AJ had soccer practice. Jules will have her first practice Tuesday night. Games will start this coming weekend!

Hey Fletchers! It's nice to hear from you. Glad to hear things are going well and you are getting settled. School started yesterday, so things are busy again in VA Beach. Send an email for AJ and Lennox will write her sometime. Take care!
